Smart Objects

Ensure that the feature is set up. See Set up Smart Objects.
  1. To create instances of controllers, right-click the
    SmartObjects
     folder, and select:
    New
    SmartObjects
    Type
    SmartObjectImporter
    .
    If you have multiple controllers, you must create multiple instances.
  2. Define settings for the controller:
    1. In the
      ControllerFilePath
      , enter the file path to the controller.
    2. In the
      IPAddress
      , enter the IP address of the controller.
  3. Right-click the controller, and perform the following actions:
    1. To read the Smart Objects model, execute the
      ReadModels
       method.
      New properties of SmartObjectImporter display, following the naming convention
      Target for
      so_model_name
      . You can use these properties to define
      FactoryTalk Optix
       model location for Sync object models.
    2. To move Smart Objects model to FTOptix model, execute the
      ImportSmartObjects
       method.
      Imported SmartObjectImporter models appear in the predefined location, following the naming convention
      Target for
      so_model_name
      . You can use these properties to define
      FactoryTalk Optix
       model location for Sync object models.
