Create a motion group

Create a motion group if one does not already exist, and associate an axis to the group. Add the axes to the project's motion group.
To create a motion group and associate an axis to the motion group:
  1. Right-click the axis, and click
    Properties
    . The
    Axis Properties
     dialog box appears.
  2. In
    Categories
    , click
    General
    .
  3. In the
    Assigned Group
     area, click
    New Group
    .
  4. In the
    Name
    , type a tag name.
  5. [optional] In the
    Description
    , type a description of the tag.
  6. In
    Data Type
    , select
    MOTION_GROUP
    .
  7. In
    Scope
    , select the scope.
  8. In
    External Access
     list, select the external access type.
  9. In
    OPC UA Access
    , select the OPC UA access type.
  10. Select the
    Open MOTION_GROUP
     check box, and click
    Create
    . The
    Motion Group Wizard
     dialog box appears.
  11. In the
    Unassigned
     pane, select the axis to associate to the group and click
    Add
    .
  12. [optional] Click
    Next
     to configure the base update period.
  13. Click
    Finish
    .
