Configure the System Overhead Time Slice
If a
ControlLogix
controller has many active MSG instructions, the performance of each individual MSG may suffer. One possible way to improve MSG performance is to increase the system overhead time slice. The system overhead time slice is the percentage of time the controller allocates to perform communication and housekeeping functions.The higher the number, the better the MSG performance will be. However, this may have an adverse performance impact on the control program being executed by the ControlLogix
controller.Refer to
