Examine a Tag Alias Chain Hierarchy

Alias tags support multiple names for the same data item or component of that item within the system. To understand these relationships, view the tag alias structure or hierarchy. To access the
Cross Reference
 window from the
Search
menu, choose
Cross Reference
. The
Cross Reference
 window appears, displaying the
By Logic
 tab.
To examine a Tag Alias Chain Hierarchy:
  1. Select the tag hierarchy tab on the bottom of the view.
    A hierarchical view of the tag relationships appears.
  2. For the
    Type
    field, choose
    Tag
    .
  3. Choose the scope of the tag to Cross Reference.
  4. Choose the tag name to Cross Reference.
