TrendX options in Start Trigger tab
Use this tab to configure the Start Trigger event for a data logging instance.

To open the
Start Trigger
tab: From the Controller Organizer, expand the Assets and Trends folders, right-click the trend, and choose Properties
. The RSTrendX Properties dialog box is displayed. Select the Start Trigger

Parameter | Usage |
No Trigger | Select this check box if you want data logging to begin as soon as the trend is started, and continue until the stop trigger occurs. If the Number of Captures parameter is larger than 1, the next data logging instance begins as soon as the previous instance ends.If you clear this check box, data logging begins when the start trigger is turned on, and continues until the stop trigger occurs. If the Number of Captures parameter is larger than 1, the start trigger is monitored again once the previous data logging instance ends. |
Tag Trigger Conditions | |
Tag Trigger Summary | Displays all of the entered tag trigger clauses. |
AND | Click this button to append the word AND to the end of the selected tag trigger clause in the Tag Trigger Summary list; the next tag trigger clause is selected and displayed in the Tag , Operation , Target Value , or Target Tag controls automatically. If the next clause is not available, those controls are cleared for a new clause. |
OR | Click this button to append the word OR to the end of the selected tag trigger clause in the Tag Trigger Summary list; the next tag trigger clause is selected and displayed in the Tag , Operation , Target Value , or Target Tag controls automatically. If the next clause is not available, those controls are cleared for a new clause. |
Delete | Click this button to remove the selected tag trigger clause from the Tag Trigger Summary list. |
Tag | The source tag that is monitored to start data logging. |
Operation | The method used to evaluate the tag against either the Target Value or the Target Tag . When the operation is evaluated as TRUE, data logging begins.Tip: Use the Trigger Level Equal option to avoid missing data samples due to:
The Trigger Level Equal option interpolates data by comparing the previous sample value to the current sample value. The trigger is met when either of the following conditions are true:

Target Value | Choose this option if you want the Operation to be performed on the Tag and the Target Value . This value can be either an integer or a floating point value. If you enter an integer, you can enter it as a binary, an octal, a decimal, or a hexadecimal number, with the leading BASE#. |
Target Tag | Choose this option if you want the Operation to be performed on the Tag and the Target Tag. |
Pre-Sampling | |
Samples | Specifies the number of pre-samples to keep for data logging. Valid values range from 0 to 1000; the default value is 100. |
Time Period | Specifies the number of pre-samples to keep for the data logging by a time frame. |
