Add a widget to a project

You can add preconfigured widgets to a project. Use widgets to configure the FactoryTalk Optix Application at runtime, configure the device on which the application is running, and show information about the device.
NOTE: An
OptixPanel™
 project contains
Date & Time
,
Device
,
Network
, and
FT Remote Access
 widgets in the
Project view
 by default.
  1. From the main toolbar, select
    Libraries
    .
  2. In
    Libraries
    , select
    Widgets
    .
  3. Select the widget to add to the project.
  4. Under
    Components
    , complete the instructions to add the widget to the project.
  5. When the widget is added, in
    Libraries
    , select
    Close
    .
The widget appears in
Project view
.
TIP: If you add a widget that contains a node with the same name as the node that already exists in the project, the dynamic links are remapped to the node that exists in the project.
