Request remote assistance

Request remote assistance when you need an issue in your system resolved remotely.
  1. On the device, open the screen with the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    Widget.
    If you created your project using the OptixPanel template on the start page, select
    Settings
    and then select
    FT Remote Access
    .
    If the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    application is not configured to allow you to submit assistance requests, the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    widget displays
    Assistance requests are disabled for this device. Please contact your System Administrator.
     When remote assistance in the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    widget is enabled, you can submit a request for assistance.
  2. Select
    Assistance
    .
  3. If in the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    application contact details are required, fields appear for you to complete:
    • Name
      . Your name.
    • Contact information
      . Your phone number or email address.
    • Description
      . The description of the issue.
  4. Select
    Request Assistance
    .
    The request is sent to the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    application and the button displays
    Assistance Requested
    .
    NOTE: If the remote access request is closed remotely from the
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    application, the request is automatically closed on the device. If assistance is no longer required, you can close the request in
    FactoryTalk Remote Access
    on the local device.
The button displays
Request Assistance
again.
