Save an Add-On Instruction

Store a group of Add-On Instructions together in two ways:
  • Save Add-On Instructions in a project file.
  • Create an .L5X export file.
To save an Add-ON Instruction
  1. Identify what instructions to store.
  2. Place the instructions in a project file with an easily identified name (for example, MyInstructions.ACD).
  3. Open other projects in additional instances of the
    Logix Designer
    application.
  4. Copy and paste, or drag and drop, to move a copy of the instruction definitions from one project to another.
    TIP:
If any of the instruction definitions reference the same Add-On Instruction or User-Defined Type, there is only one shared copy in the project file. When copying an Add-On Instruction to another project, any definition referenced to the target project is also copied.
