View messages

View error, warning, and information messages for the logic in your ladder diagram in the project. The
Messages
tab allows you to go to the location associated with the message and correct the issue. The ladder diagram does not have to be open to review messages.
  1. If the
    Output
    pane does not appear, in the pane bar, select Output icon
    Output
    or select
    View > Output > Messages
    .
  2. In
    Output
    under
    Messages
    , select the option to view the desired messages:
    • Entire project
      . View messages for the entire project. This is the default.
    • Current tab
      . View messages for the current tab in focus.
  3. In
    Description
    , read the description of the message.
  4. In
    Location
    , select the link to open the location in the ladder diagram so that you can resolve the issue.
    TIP: To sort by location, select the
    Location
    column header to toggle between ascending and descending order.
  5. (optional) In
    Search
    , type a portion of the description or message.
    Messages
    returns rows that meet the search criteria.
