ALMA and ALMD Properties dialog box - Alarm Messages Editor

Use this dialog box to enter alarm messages and add variables for analog alarms.
The Alarm Messages Editor parameters are:

Message
The message string (maximum of 255 characters, including characters that specify embedded variables) contains the information to display to the operator regarding the alarm. Enter text and embed variable information. In the alarm message editor, select the variable to add it anywhere in the message string.
The alarm message string cannot be programmatically accessed from the alarm tag. To change the alarm message based on specific events, configure one of the associated tags as a string data type and embed that associated tag in the message
Variable
Add one or more variables to the alarm message.
  1. Select a variable from the list. Choose from:
    • Alarm Name
    • Condition Name
    • Input Value
    • Limit Value
    • Severity
    • Tag 1
    • Tag 2
    • Tag 3
    • Tag 4
  2. Specify the formatting for the variable.
For String variables, check
Use Fixed Width
to define a fixed size.
For Numeric variables, specify the Number of Digits, Decimal Places (if REAL), and the Left Fill character.
  1. Click
    Add
    to add the text.
