Protect graphic objects with a password

Protect a container or a drawing with a password to prevent other
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
 users from editing the protected object children.
IMPORTANT: Protecting graphic objects with a password may not prevent advanced users from bypassing the object protection and should not be considered a safety or intellectual property protection.
  1. In
    Project view
    , right-click a container or drawing object to protect.
  2. Select
    Password protection
    Set password
    .
  3. Enter a password.
  4. (optional) Select
    Show password
     to verify that you entered the password correctly.
  5. Select
    OK
    .
In
Project view
 and in the
Editor
,
appears next to the password protected object. The child objects are hidden in
Project view
 and cannot be edited.
