PDO status and parameters

Use the
General
tab of the
PDO Properties
dialog box to monitor and set parameters for the selected Process Discrete Output (PDO) instruction or function block, including commanding the device.
To monitor and set parameters for PDO instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Select the
    General
    tab.
  3. Set the parameters:
    • Bypassable permissives & interlocks.
      Use the button to check or bypass permissives and interlocks that can be bypassed. The button is enabled when the device is online. The button is disabled when the device is out of service. The action is immediate and there is no need to confirm the command request selecting
      Apply
      .
    • Operator/maintenance online commands
      The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator. If the command request requires a signature, this will enforce security from the HMI and disable the command from the Logix Designer dialog.
      • Off.
        Use the button to command the device off. The button is enabled when the device and the instruction are ready for Off action. The button is always disabled in offline. The button text is configurable in the
        Command configuration
        tab. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator.
      • On.
        Command the device on. The button is enabled when the device and the instruction are ready for On action. The button text is configurable in the
        Command configuration
        tab. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator.
      • Pulse off.
        Command the device Off pulse. The button is enabled when the device and the instruction are ready for off Pulse action. The button text is configurable in the
        Command configuration
        tab. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator.
      • Pulse on.
        Command the device On pulse. The button is enabled when the device and the instruction are ready for on Pulse action. The button is disabled when the device is offline. The button text is configurable from the
        Command configuration
        tab. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator.
      • Pulse continuously.
        Command the device to pulse continuously. The button is enabled when the device and the instruction are ready for continuous Pulse action. The button is disabled when the device is offline. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator. The button text is configurable in the
        Command configuration
        tab.
    • Sheds and alarms reset.
      Reset all sheds and alarms of the instruction. The button is enabled when the device and the instruction are ready for reset action. The action is immediate if the command request does not need to be confirmed by the operator. If the command request requires a signature, this will enforce security from the HMI and disable the command from the Logix Designer dialog. The button is disabled when the device is offline.
    • Physical/Virtual.
      Switch between physical and virtual modes when in maintenance mode.
  4. View the read-only parameters:
    • Device state
      . When the
      Logix Designer
      application is online with the controller, the indicator displays the current device state, such as Off, Pulse on, or Out of service.
    • Device issues
      . When the
      Logix Designer
      application is online with the controller, the indicator displays fault conditions, such as Feedback fault or I/O fault.
