Channels view parameters (1756-IR12, 1756-IT16)
The
Channels
view includes these parameters:
TIP:
The parameters cannot be edited when there is a transition to Run mode.
Parameter | 1756-IR12 Description | 1756-IT16 Description |
---|---|---|
Copy Channel Configuration | Select a channel to copy the properties to another channel. | |
Channel | Displays the channel number to which this configuration applies. | |
Disable | Determines whether the channel is enabled or disabled. Select the checkbox when the channel is not used. Disabling the channel prevents erroneous fault reporting (for example, underrange) and also prevents the FLT LED from illuminating. Tip: Parameters are unavailable when the channel is disabled. | |
Input Type | Displays RTD as a read-only value. | Displays Thermocouple as a read-only value. |
Sensor Offset | Specifies a sensor offset value to compensate for any known error on the sensor or channel to which the sensor is connected. The value is set in Temperature Units or Ohms and is added to the input value. | |
Input Range | Specifies the input range for an RTD when the Sensor Type is Ohm . For maximum resolution, select the range that most closely accommodates the anticipated maximum resistance value. Valid options:
When the Sensor Type is not Ohm , the Input Range shows the resistance range used by the device for optimal performance based on the RTD type. These ranges are read only and cannot be changed. | Shows the input range -100 mV to 100 mV .This value is read-only and cannot be changed. |
10 Ohm Copper Offset | Specifies an offset value that is within the range from -1.00 through 1.00 Ohms for an RTD with the Sensor Type set to 10 Ohm CU 427 .The default value is 0.00 Ohms. This value can compensate for any Copper RTD errors and is added to the input reading before linearization. | N/A |
Temperature Units | Specifies the temperature unit for sensor types that are not Ohms for the 1756-IR12 and for sensor types that are not mV for the 1756-IT16. Valid options are:
| |
Digital Filter | Specifies the time constant, in milliseconds, for a digital first order lag filter on the input. The digital filter smooths input data noise transients for the selected channel on the module. A value of 0 disables the filter. Enter a value that is in the range from 0 through 32767 ms. A value of 0 ms means no filtering. | |
Sensor Type | Specifies the sensor type for the 1756-IR12 channel:
| Specifies the sensor type for the 1756-IT16 channel:
|
Notch Filter | Specifies a frequency for the first notch of the filter for all of the channels. Selection of the filter influences the analog to digital output data rate and changes the module throughput. Module throughput is a function of the number of inputs used and the first notch filter.
