Limits view parameters

The
Limits
view includes these parameters:
TIP:
The parameters cannot be edited when there is a transition to Run mode.
Parameter
Description
Disable Clamp Limits
Select the checkbox to disable the clamp limits.
Clamping limits the data from an output so that it remains in a range configured by the controller, even when the controller commands an output outside that range.
Disabling the clamp limits prevents the module from clamping any limits and does not allow access to any of the limit configuration properties.
High Clamp
Specifies the highest value an output channel can reach in the control process.
Enter a value within the range from -9999999 through 99999999. The default value is 100.
High Clamp
must be greater than
Low Clamp
.
Low Clamp
Specifies the lowest value an output channel can reach in the control process.
Enter a value that is within the range from -9999999 through 99999999. The default value is 0.
Low Clamp
must be less than
High Clamp
.
Unlatch All
Unlatches the limits.
Unlatch
Unlatches the limits individually
Disable All Alarms
Select the checkbox to disable alarms when the alarms are not used.
Latch Limit Alarms
Select the checkbox to latch the process alarms so that the alarms do not clear until they are unlatched.
This is useful if alarm conditions need to be acknowledged by an operator.
Unlatch the latch limit alarms by clearing the
Latch Limit Alarms
checkbox.
Latch Rate Alarm
Select the checkbox to latch the rate alarm so that the alarm does not clear until it is unlatched.
This is useful if alarm conditions need to be acknowledged by an operator.
Unlatch the latch rate alarm by clearing the
Latch Rate Alarm
checkbox.
Unlatch
Unlatches the clamp alarms.
Ramp in Run Mode
Select the checkbox to enable output ramping during Run mode. Output changes are limited to the maximum ramp rate during Run mode.
Ramp to Program Mode
Select the checkbox to enable output ramping when transitioning to Program mode. Output changes are limited to the maximum ramp rate when transitioning to the program value.
Ramp to Fault Mode and Final Fault State
Select the checkbox to enable output ramping when transitioning to either fault mode or final fault state. Output changes are limited to the maximum ramp rate when transitioning to the fault value or to the fault final state.
Ramp Rate
Specifies the maximum rate at which the output is allowed to transition in EU/Sec.
Enter a value in the range from 0 through 999999999. The default value is 10000000.
The ramp rate is only used if at least one of the
Ramp in Run Mode
,
Ramp to Program Mode
, or
Ramp in Fault Mode/Final Fault State
checkboxes is selected.
Copy Channel Configuration
Opens the
Copy Channel Configuration
dialog box to copy the channel's properties to another channel.
Use the
Copy Channel Configuration
dialog box to choose the channels to copy.
