Enter a password

Use the
Enter password
 dialog box to enter the password to the switch. The password prevents changes to the configuration of the device by unauthorized personnel.
You must enter a password to set the configuration settings, reset the switch, and save and restore a configuration. If the password is invalid, an error message appears.
TIP:
The password must not include embedded spaces.
To enter a password
  • In
    Enter password
    , in the
    Password
     box, enter a valid password, and then select
    OK
    .
    TIP:
    The password includes up to 63 characters and is case sensitive. Valid characters include:
    • Letters A...Z (upper and lower case)
    • Numerals 0...9
    • Symbols ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + , - = { } | [ ] \ : ; ? / .
