Ring X view parameters

The
Ring X
view includes these parameters:
Parameters
Description
Network mode
Indicates the network mode.
Network topology
Displays whether the switch is operating in a DLR or linear network. Available values:
  • Ring
  • Linear
Network status
Displays the current status of the network. Available values:
  • Normal
  • Ring Fault
  • Unexpected Loop Detected, Partial Network Fault
  • Rapid Fault/Restore Cycle
Enable supervisor mode
Indicates that the switch is a ring supervisor on the network. If cleared, the supervisor mode is disabled, and the switch is not a supervisor on the network.
Supervisor status
Displays whether the switch is currently operating as the active ring supervisor or backup ring supervisor. Available values:
  • Active
  • Backup
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor.
Active ring supervisor
Displays the IP address or MAC address of the active ring supervisor. Only available when the switch is operating in a DLR network.
Active supervisor precedence
Displays the precedence assigned to the active supervisor. The precedence is entered in the
Advance Network Configuration
dialog box.
Only available when the switch is operating in a DLR network.
Ring faults detected
Displays the number ring faults detected on the network since the last power cycle or counter reset.
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor.
Last active node on Port 1
Displays the IP address or MAC ID of the last node the active ring supervisor can communicate with on Port 1 when a ring fault has occurred.
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor.
Last active node on Port 2
Displays the IP address or MAC ID of the last node the active ring supervisor can communicate with on Port 2 when a ring fault occurs.
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor.
Status
Displays the current condition of the ring fault. Available values:
  • Partial Network Fault
  • Rapid Fault/Restore Cycles
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor.
Advanced
Opens the
Advanced Network Configuration
dialog box to enter the
Supervisor precedence number
,
Beacon interval
, and
Beacon timeout
.
Reset Counters
Used to reset the ring fault count to zero for the switch. Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor.
Verify Fault Location
Causes the switch to verify the last node fault location on port 1 and port 2 and update the
Last Active Node
parameters.
The
Last Active Node
parameters show information from the last fault until you verify the fault location.
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor
Clear Faults
Used to enable the switch to clear the rapid fault/restore cycles fault.
Only available when the switch is a ring supervisor and the fault is Rapid Fault/Restore Cycles.
Refresh
Retrieves and displays the latest values from the device.
