The
Add/Edit DHCP Pool
dialog box includes these parameters:

DHCP Settings
DHCP Pool Name
The name of the DHCP IP address pool configured on the switch. A DHCP IP address pool is a range (or pool) of available IP addresses that the switch can assign to connected devices. The name can have up to 31 alphanumeric characters. The name cannot contain a "?" or a tab key.
DHCP Pool Network
The subnetwork IP address of the DHCP IP address pool.
The format is a 32-bit numeric address written as four numbers separated by periods (for example, 223.255.255.255). The first octet can be from 0 through 223; the second, third, and fourth octets can be from 0 through 255. This address cannot be larger than 223.xxx.yyy.zzz (where xxx, yyy, and zzz are the second, third, and fourth octets in the Subnet Mask IP address).
Subnet Mask
The network address that identifies the subnetwork (subnet) of the DHCP IP address pool.
Subnets segment the devices in a network into smaller groups. The default is 255.255.255.0.
Default Gateway
The default gateway IP address for the DHCP client that is using this server.
The format is a 32-bit numeric address written as four numbers separated by periods (for example, 255.255.255.255). Each number can be from 0 through 255.
Domain Name
The domain name for the DHCP client.
The name can have up to 31 alphanumeric characters. The name cannot contain a "?" or a tab key.
Starting IP Address
Indicates the starting IP address that defines the range of addresses in the DHCP IP address pool.
The first octet can be from 0 through 223; the second, third, and fourth octets can be from 0 through 255.
Be sure that none of the IP addresses that you assign are in use by another device in your network.
Ending IP Address
Indicates the ending IP address that defines the range of addresses in the DHCP IP address pool.
The first octet can be from 0 through 223; the second, third, and fourth octets can be from 0 through 255.

Use Preassigned Addresses Only
Indicates whether the IP address is preassigned for the selected port and is not available for normal DHCP dynamic assignment. The IP address must be an address from the pool specified in the
DHCP Address Assignment
view in the DHCP
Pool
field.
Enable DHCP Snooping for this Pool
Indicates whether broadcast of DHCP requests are restricted beyond the connected switch or not. If enabled, devices only receive address assignments from the connected switch.
This option is available on VLAN interfaces.
Lease Length
Never Expires
The lease duration of the IP address assigned in the DHCP address pool is unlimited.
Custom
Specifies the duration of the lease of the IP address assigned in the DHCP address pool in numbers of days, hours, and minutes.
This lease length is used for all assignments.
Days
The length of the lease in days. The value is converted to seconds when sent to the switch.
This is available only when Lease Length is

Hours
The length of the lease in hours. The value is converted to seconds when sent to the switch.

The length of lease in minutes. The value is converted to seconds when sent to the switch.

DHCP Server
Primary DNS Address
The IP address of the primary Domain Name System (DNS) IP servers available to a DHCP client.
Primary WINS Address
The IP address of the primary Microsoft NetBIOS name server (WINS server) available to a DHCP client.
Secondary DNS Address
The IP address of the secondary Domain Name System (DNS) IP servers available to a DHCP client.
Secondary WINS Address
The IP address of the secondary Microsoft NetBIOS name server (WINS server) available to a DHCP client.
Set
Sends the settings to the switch. The
Enter password
dialog box may appear.
