Translations view parameters

The
Translations
 view contains these parameters.
Parameter
Description
add
Adds a table entry.
delete
Deletes the table entry.
Device Location
Specifies the location of the device network. Available values:
  • Private Network
  • Public Network
Private IP Address
Specifies the address or range of addresses for devices on the private subnet that are configured for translation. Available values:
  • Class A(Netid.hostid.hostid.hostid): 1.0.0.0 to 126.255.255.255
  • Class B(Netid.Netid.hostid.hostid): 128.0.0.0 to 191.255.255.255
  • Class C(Netid.Netid.Netid.hostid): 192.0.0.0 to 223.255.255.255
<Translation direction>
Displays a visual indication of the translation direction for the IP addresses. Available values:
  • Private to public ( » )
  • Public to private ( « )
Public IP Address
Specifies the unique public address or range of unique public addresses for devices on the public subnet that are configured for translation. Available values:
  • Class A(Netid.hostid.hostid.hostid): 1.0.0.0 to 126.255.255.255
  • Class B(Netid.Netid.hostid.hostid): 128.0.0.0 to 191.255.255.255
  • Class C(Netid.Netid.Netid.hostid): 192.0.0.0 to 223.255.255.255
Type
Defines the translation type of entry to add to the translation table. Available values:
  • Single
     – a single IP address; the Count and Subnet Mask fields are disabled
  • Range
     – a range of IP addresses; the Subnet Mask field is disabled
  • Subnet
     – all the addresses in a subnet; the Count field is disabled
Count
Specifies the number of addresses to include in the range. Valid values are 1..128. The default value is 1. Each address in the range counts as one translation entry. The switch supports a maximum of 128 translation entries.
Subnet Mask
Specifies a list of valid subnet masks for the addresses to translate. Available values:
  • Class B: 255.255.0.0
  • Class C: 255.255.255.0
  • Portion of Class C:
    • 255.255.255.128 (provides 128 addresses per translation entry)
    • 255.255.255.192 (provides 64 addresses per translation entry)
    • 255.255.255.224 (provides 32 addresses per translation entry)
    • 255.255.255.240 (provides 16 addresses per translation entry)
Advanced
Opens the
Advanced
 dialog box to configure traffic types and fix ups for a NAT instance.
Total Translations Remaining
Displays the amount of available Translations that can be translated for this NAT instance.
