Port Status view parameters

The
Port Status
view includes these parameters:
Parameter
Description
Unit
Indicates the unit where the port resides.
Port
Indicates the selected port number includes the port type (Fa for Fast Ethernet or Gi for Gigabit Ethernet), the base or expansion device number (1 for the base, 2 for the first expansion device, or 3 for the second expansion device), and the specific port number. For example:
  • Gi1/1 is Gigabit Ethernet port 1 on the base.
  • Gi1/2 is Gigabit Ethernet port 2 on the base.
  • Fa1/1 is Fast Ethernet port 1 on the base.
  • Fa2/1 is Fast Ethernet port 1 on the first expansion device.
Tip
: The base and expansion device number is only applicable for Stratix 8000/8300/5800 switches.
Port Alarm Status
Displays the current status of the port alarm. The available values for each port are:
  • Link fault alarm
  • Port not forwarding alarm
  • Port not operating alarm
  • High bit error rate alarm
  • No alarms
Link Status
Displays whether the link is active or inactive.
Port Fault Status
Displays the current status of the port fault. The available values for each port are:
  • Error-disable event
  • SFP error-disabled
  • CDP native VLAN mismatch
  • MAC address flap
  • Port security violation
  • No fault
Threshold Exceeded
Shows unusual changes in network traffic. If the threshold value is exceeded,
Yes
displays in the appropriate column. If the threshold value is not exceeded,
No
displays in the appropriate column.
  • Unicast
    - Indicates whether the current unicast traffic exceeded the threshold value.
  • Multicast
    - Indicates whether the current multicast traffic exceeded the threshold value.
  • Broadcast
    - Indicates whether the current broadcast traffic exceeded the threshold value.
Bandwidth Utilization
Displays the bandwidth percentage in use. Note whether the usage percentage is what you expect during the given time of network activity. If usage is higher than expected, a problem might exist.
Port Diagnostics
Opens the
Port Diagnostics
dialog box to diagnose a network performance problem.
Cable Diagnostics
Opens the
Cable Diagnostics
dialog box to diagnose a cable problem.
Refresh
Retrieves and displays the latest values from the device.
