Asset Class
The user can view, add, edit, and delete the asset class. The following are the two types of asset classes:
- User-Defined (Defined manually by a user)
- Pre-Defined (Auto populated)
NOTE:
The user cannot add, delete, or modify the pre-defined Asset Class.
Add Asset Class
Perform the following steps to add an asset class:
- On the left navigation menu, drop-down theConfigurationmenu and clickClass Setup.
- In theAsset Classtab, clickAdd.
- In theClass Definitiontab, set these parameters:
- Class Name: Provide the Class Name details.
- Class Description: Provide a description for the class.
- ClickNext.
- In theConfigure Sensorstab, set these parameters:
- Sensor Name: Provide the Sensor Name details.
- Sensor Description: Provide a description for the sensor.
- Unit of Measure: Select the required Unit of Measure from the drop-down list.
- Date Type: Select the required Date Type from the drop-down list.
- (Optional) Click the [+] icon to add a new row and repeat the previous step to configure more sensors.NOTE: To delete the configured sensor, click the [] icon.
- ClickNext.
- In theConfigure Component Classtab, set these parameters:
- Component Class Name: Select the required Component Class Name from the drop-down list.
- Component Class Description: It is auto-populated based on the component class selection.
- (Optional) Click the [+] icon to add a new row and repeat the previous step to configure more component classes.NOTE:To delete the component class, click the [] icon.
- ClickAdd.The “Asset Class Name was added successfully” message is displayed.
Edit Asset Class
Perform the following steps to edit the asset class:
- On the left navigation menu, drop-down theConfigurationmenu and clickClass Setup.
- In theAsset Classtab, select the required Asset Class checkbox, and clickEdit.
- Edit the required fields from theClass Definition,Configure Sensors, andConfigure Component Classtabs.
- ClickSave.“Asset Class Name was updated successfully” message is displayed.NOTE: It is applicable only for User-defined Asset Classes.
View Asset Class
Perform the following steps to view the asset class:
- On the left navigation menu, drop-down theConfigurationmenu and clickClass Setup.
- In theAsset Classtab, click the required Asset Class Name to view the required details.
Delete Asset Class
Perform the following steps to delete the asset class:
- On the left navigation menu, drop-down theConfigurationmenu and clickClass Setup.
- In theAsset Classtab, select the required Asset Class checkbox, and clickDelete.
- In theDelete Asset Classdialog box, clickDelete.The “Asset Class Name was deleted successfully” message is displayed.NOTE:
- It is applicable only for User-defined Asset Classes.
- If the Asset Class has associations, then the delete option is disabled.
