: Batch Performance Analytics – Private Cloud 1.00.00

Release Date: 07-Feb-2025
Achieving the Golden Batch in manufacturing where all key performance indicators are optimal and essential for quality output and resource efficiency. Near real-time performance visibility, using advanced technologies and data analytics, is a key strategy to monitor and optimize processes continuously.
Batch Performance Analytics (BPA) provides data-driven analysis of batch production. This enables organizations to reduce process variability by identifying and monitoring Key Performance Indicator (KPI) parameters, ensuring that all batches consistently meet specified standards.
BPA enables near real-time tracking of critical process attributes and parameters, offering insights into operational efficiency. Its detailed drill-down capabilities facilitate thorough root cause analysis (RCA) of deviations, helping organizations identify issues early and optimize performance.

Features

This release provides the following features:
  • Uses FactoryTalk DataMosaix Private Cloud platform for:
    • Enhanced User Management
: Securely manage user access with configurable roles and permissions, improving accountability and oversight.
    • Unified Data Connectivity
: Seamlessly integrate data from various sources via standard out of the box connectors.
      • FactoryTalk Batch Connector
: Retrieve detailed batch information, including timing and asset usage. Supports FactoryTalk Batch version 12 or newer.
      • FactoryTalk Historian Connector (via PI System)
: Access real-time sensor data to monitor process parameters and enable proactive corrective actions. Supports PI Server or FactoryTalk Historian SE or OSI PI; requires connectivity with PI Asset Framework Client Version 2018 R2 or newer.
      • LIMS Data Connector
: Retrieves laboratory test data from CSV and Excel files.
    • Data Contextualization
: Utilizes the pre-built flexible data model to organize and understand data effectively.
  • Configure the Golden Batch baseline:
    • Flexible KPI/BPI Configuration
: Identify and configure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their associated parameters. Customize weightages for KPI/BPI calculations to align with specific business needs. Easily copy configurations between similar recipes for increased efficiency.
      • Supports two (2) KPIs: Quality and Cycle Time.
      • Supports two (2) KPI parameters: critical quality attributes - CQA (e.g. viscosity) and batch cycle time duration.
      • For each KPI parameter: configure spec limits, target values, and weightage.
    • Proactive Process Monitoring with OOT Rules
      :
      • Set up Out of Tolerance (OOT) rules for monitoring each KPI parameter.
      • Select target users who should receive the alert notifications.
      • Receive timely alerts for process deviations using a set of 8 pre-defined Nelson Rules.
  • Insight Dashboards tailored to different functions at different levels of the organization enhances collaboration:
    • Comprehensive Performance Calculations
: Calculate key performance metrics, including Cycle Time and Quality, using pre-defined formulas and user-defined weightages.
    • Hierarchical Production Performance Dashboards
: Gain insights at different levels and the ability to review daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly performance against the Golden Batch target.
      • Enterprise Insights: View overall performance across multiple production sites on a world map. Benchmark performance across sites and drill down into a sites.
      • Site Insights: Drill down into site-specific data with interactive charts and filters.
      • Batch Insights: Access detailed information for individual batches, including the ability to designate "golden batches."
    • Process performance insights
: near real-time process insights visualize process variability based on sensor data and compare current performance against "golden batch" data to identify areas for improvement.
      • Statistical Process Control (SPC): Monitor process performance in real time with IMR and Process Capability charts.
  • Detailed batch-to-batch comparison
: Compare alert events and batch data side-by-side to identify trends and improve decision-making.
    • Comparison criteria:
      • Multiple batches running in the same unit
      • Multiple batches running in similar units across PCells
    • Comparison at all procedure levels (recipe, unit procedure, operation, phase):
      • Parameter profiles
      • Cycle Time durations.
  • Deviation tracking and reporting
: Streamlined Alerting and Analysis: Alert Notifications: View all Nelson Rule alerts in a dedicated tab with detailed batch information.
This release provides a comprehensive suite of tools for optimizing batch processes and driving continuous improvement.
