Deny access to a product code
Configure
CodeMeter
options to deny access to all computers to all activations of a specific product code.- Keep these considerations in mind when configuringCodeMeteroptions:
- Only activations that are currently on the server can be configured.
- Changing the access rules might require a refresh of theCodeMeterserver.
- To configure a computer to be a CodeMeter server, select theRun Network Serverbox on theAdvanced > Configure CodeMeterpage.
To deny access to all computers to all activations of a specific product code:
- OpenFactoryTalk Activation Manageron the server computer and select theAdvancedtab.
- SelectConfigure.CodeMeterserver
- SelectWeb Adminto open theCodeMeterWebAdmin utility.TIP:In theCodeMeterWebAdmin utility, click the help icon for more information on settings and parameters.
- On theConfigurationmenu, selectServer > License Access Permissions.
- In theModebox, selectAdvanced.
- In theAdvanced Mode Configurationbox, underSpecific access rules, selectAdd new Firm Codeto open theAdd Firm Codebox.
- Select the firm code to configure and selectAdd. The firm code is added underSpecific access rules.
- SelectAdd new Product Codeto open theAdd Product Codebox.
- Select the product code to configure and selectAdd. The product code is added under the firm code.TIP:To see the name of each product code, select theContainermenu and then expand the row for the firm code.
- For the default action, selectDeny. All computers are denied access to use the specificRockwell Automationsoftware activations of the product code. However, computers are automatically allowed access to localhost (the server computer).
- SelectApply.
