Deny access to a product code

Configure

CodeMeter

options to deny access to all computers to all activations of a specific product code.

Keep these considerations in mind when configuring

CodeMeter

options:

Only activations that are currently on the server can be configured.

Changing the access rules might require a refresh of the

CodeMeter

server.

To configure a computer to be a CodeMeter server, select the Run Network Server
box on the Advanced > Configure CodeMeter
page.

To deny access to all computers to all activations of a specific product code:

Open

FactoryTalk Activation Manager

on the server computer and select the Advanced
tab.

Select Configure
CodeMeter
server
.

Select Web Admin
to open the

CodeMeter

WebAdmin utility.

TIP:

In the

CodeMeter

WebAdmin utility, click the help CodeMeterHelpIcon

icon for more information on settings and parameters.

On the Configuration
menu, select Server > License Access Permissions
.

In the Mode
box, select Advanced
.

In the Advanced Mode Configuration
box, under Specific access rules
, select Add new Firm Code
to open the Add Firm Code
box.

Select the firm code to configure and select Add
. The firm code is added under Specific access rules
.

Select Add new Product Code
to open the Add Product Code
box.

Select the product code to configure and select Add
. The product code is added under the firm code.

TIP:

To see the name of each product code, select the Container
menu and then expand the row for the firm code.

For the default action, select Deny
. All computers are denied access to use the specific

Rockwell Automation

software activations of the product code. However, computers are automatically allowed access to localhost (the server computer).

Select Apply
.
