Requirements and restrictions for borrowed activations

You need a network connection to borrow an activation. Once the activation is borrowed to a computer that computer can be disconnected from the network.
When a borrowed activation expires, the software on the computer inactivates and the activation becomes available again from the activation pool of the server (network connection not required).
You can manually return a borrowed activation to the activation server before the borrow term expires (network connection required).
A borrowed
CodeMeter®
or
FlexNet
Publisher (FNP) activation can only activate local applications that are installed on the same machine, not applications installed on another virtual, or physical machine.
TIP:
Tips:
  • Not all products support borrowed activations. See product documentation for details.
  • If a
    CodeMeter
activation is borrowed to a computer that runs on a
    Windows Server®
operating system, users who are connected to that computer by Remote Desktop Services cannot:
    • Use the activation to activate
      Rockwell Software®
      , and
    • See the activation on the
      Find Available
      page.
