Rehost

Use the
rehost
command to rehost, or return, an activation.
This option is required:
  • '-sn, --serialnumber'
These parameters are optional:
  • '-q, --quantity'
  • '-b, --binding'
  • '-pv, --productversion'
These options can be included multiple times:
  • '-sn, --serialnumber',
  • '-q, --quantity',
  • '-pv, --productversion'
    NOTE:
    Notes:
    • The number of -pv options included must match the number of -sn options.
    • If more than one -q option is included, it must match the number of -sn options.
    • If -pv options are included, they must match the number of -sn options.
    • The multiple options are order dependent. The first -sn value is used with the first -pk, -q, and -pv values. The second -sn value is used with the second -pk, -q, and -pv values, and so on.
Usage: rehost [options]
This table describes the command options.
Option
Description
-sn|--serialnumber
Required: The 10-character, alpha-numeric serial number provided in the Activation certificate.
You can include multiple serial numbers.
Example: '-sn 5555566778'
-v|--verbose
Turns on trace messaging.
-q|--quantity
Optional: The number to rehost (partial rehost). If you do not provide a quantity, a full rehost is done.
You can include multiple quantities but they must match the number of -sn options.
Example: '-q 5'
-b|--binding
Optional: The binding identifier.
If activations with the same serial number have different bindings, this option determines the specific activation to rehost. If you do not specify a binding identifier, all activations of the given serial number are rehosted.
Example: '-b 3-3519398'
-pv|--productversion
Optional: The product version. This option is only applicable for CodeMeter activations. If CodeMeter activations with the same serial number and binding have different product versions, this option determines the specific CodeMeter activation to rehost. If you do not specify a product version, all activations of the given serial number and binding are rehosted.
You can include multiple product versions but they must match the number of -sn options.
Example: '-pv 32.00.00'
-m|--manual
Optional: Use this option when no computers are available that can connect to the Internet and you need to rehost an activation. This option is only applicable for Flexera activations. The rehost done with this option is a removal of the specified Flexera activation and the display of the rehost code. The user then calls
Rockwell Automation
tech support, provides the rehost code, and Rockwell tech support updates the activation information in the
Rockwell Automation
back end.
