Windows Setup

This chapter defines the setup needed in order to execute the DataView Installer. Follow each of the sections below and setup the environment. To help expedite the installation, the following items are useful:
  • Ports
    - Refer “Port Details” for defaults
  • Create a list of user IDs and passwords as the installer is executed
  • FQDN
    - Fully Qualified Domain Name
    • It is recommended to use Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for all configurations.
    • It is recommended to configure the domain name in the
      hosts
       file for a non-domain environment.
      The default
      hosts
       file directory:
      C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
      IMPORTANT:
      It is recommended that all lower case letters are used for domain names and hostnames (FQDN).
In this section, there are some configurations necessary to prepare the environment for the installation.
IMPORTANT:
If DataView is being installed on a multi node cluster, then perform the following steps on each node.
NOTE:
If DataView has previously been installed, follow the Uninstall DataView section before continuing. Refer to “Uninstallation Steps”.
IMPORTANT:
If the user have a previous version of DataView. Refer to the "Upgrade DataView" Chapter.
