- Provide a unique and meaningful name for your Extractor. The Source Name works as the identifier for your extractor. You can search for an extractor with the Source Name. By default, DataMosaix populates a source name.Source Name example: EXT_1406230728_createproject_v1.Here, EXT stands for extractor, 140623 is the date in ddmmyy format, 0728 is the timestamp in hhmm format, and createproject_v1 is the project in which you are currently working. You can use the default source name or create your own.
- Provide the location details for which you are creating the extractor.
- Provide an extractor pipeline name. An extractor pipeline ensures the data flow is monitored so that the data is reliable.NOTE: Ensure that the extractor pipeline name is the same as in Cognite Data Fusion. If the name does not match, the extractor will not be registered or may not work correctly.
- Select the source type of extractor you want to register.A source type determines what kind of data source can the extractor connect to fetch data. For example, an ODBC source type can connect to database that supports ODBC protocol and fetch data.
- Click [Save and Create Credentials] to register the extractor.TheCredentials and other infodialog box displays extractors registration details.NOTE: It is important to copy and save the credentials in a file immediately for future use. Once you close theCredentials and other infodialog box, this information cannot be viewed later. If you fail to save the information, you will have to regenerate the client secret.
- Click [Copy All].Open a text file, paste the new client secret, and save the file.
- Click [Close and Go to Listing].The new extractor is displayed under Extractor Listing.
