Creating Project
A project is a container that isolates and secures the project information such that it can be viewed by only those who have access to the project. By design, an admin or owner of the organization must create a project so that the same can be used by members for pushing data to the platform.
When an admin or an owner in FactoryTalk Hub, creates an organization, a project is provisioned in FactoryTalk DataMosaix. After the admin or owner in FactoryTalk Hub creates the organization, for the very first time when the user clicks FactoryTalk DataMosaix tile in FT Hub, or if the admin tries to sign-in to FactoryTalk DataMosaix, the admin is able to see a message prompting that creating a project is necessary to continue.
Creating a project is a one-time activity. You can create only one project per organization.
When an admin in FT Hub creates an organization and logs in to FactoryTalk DataMosaix for the first time, the following message is displayed.

to initiate project creation.The project creation begins.
After project is created, the following tabs are displayed in FactoryTalk DataMosaix:
- Manage Access- Manage Access tab consist of four subtabs - Members, Roles, Capability Groups and Features. By default, the Members sub-tab is selected and displays the Members Listing page. Members Listing page displays all the members and their roles in the project. As per the tasks, members need to be assigned roles. For example, if a member needs to register an application, the member must be assigned to the Data Scientist role. - Extractor Info- Currently, no extractors are visible. A member needs to register an extractor and generate credentials. These credentials must be added in the configuration file. For more information on registering an extractor, refer Register Extractor.
- Applications- Currently, no applications are visible. A member needs to register an application and generate credentials. These credentials must be configured before running the application for data visualization. For more information on registering applications, refer Register Application.
- Modeling- Currently, no models are visible. ClickBuildto create a model. For more information on creating assets, refer Asset Creation.
On creation of a project, when you click the
Main DataMosaix
icon, you navigate to Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). When you log in to CDF, you can see the project created in DataMosaix is provisioned in CDF. You can continue to perform further operations on the data in FactoryTalk DataMosaix.Provide Feedback
