Assign Role
FactoryTalk DataMosaix provides a set of predefined roles that enable members to perform tasks based on their assigned roles. For example, a member who is a project administrator can modify roles for other members. A project admin can allow members to perform certain functions or limit members from doing classified actions.
Perform the following steps to assign the roles:
- On the Management Console, select theManage Accesstab. By default, theMemberstab is selected and displays theMembers Listingpage.
- In theActionscolumn, click the [+] icon next to the member for whom you want to assign roles.Member ListingNOTE:If all the roles are already assigned to the member, the [+] icon is disabled. If some roles remain unassigned, the [+] icon is enabled.TheAdd Rolespage displays a list of roles that you can assign. The assigned existing roles are not displayed. You can view the existing roles in theRolescolumn under theMember Listingpage.NOTE:Click the [
] icon to expand the role and view its capabilities. Click the icon again to collapse it.
Role Capabilities - Select the checkbox adjacent to the role name to assign the role.NOTE: The user can use the search bar to find a specific role.You can select multiple roles by selecting the required checkboxes. To assign all the available roles, select theRolesheader checkbox.
- ClickAdd.The "Roles updated" message is displayed.Add RolesTheMember Listingpage displays the assigned roles in theRolescolumn. If the number of roles exceeds a certain limit, in the Roles column you will see a number followed by a plus sign (+), (for example +6). This means that there are more roles associated with it that can be displayed. To view all associated roles, click any role name in theRolescolumn. A dialog box displays with the roles associated with the selected member.Assigned Roles
