Defines the device type, such as a controller.

This table lists the type elements.

Element	Description
type (required)	Device type.
controllerType/deviceType	Defines the type of controller or device. Must match a controller or device catalog number, such as name=_1756_L85E.
name (required)	Name of the device.
minorRev	Current minor revision of the device.
catalogNumber	Device catalog number.
desc	A brief description of the device.
privateData	Defines all data needed for use by the AOP and controller profiles. Important: Do not modify this content. Changing this content can prevent the device profile from opening, and the device will have to be deleted and re-created.
portMode	Current configured port mode. For devices that support this element, it defines the physical ports as linear or dual port mode.
redundancy	Indicates that the device supports redundancy.
inhibited	Indicates that the user has inhibited this device.
moduleEKeyingState	Type of electronic keying configured: Disabled, CompatibleModule, or ExactMatch.
