Device syntax guidelines
Follow these guidelines when creating or editing devices in the code editor.
- Do not edit the privateData element, which defines all device data needed for use by the Add-On Profile (AOP) and controller profiles. Changing this content can prevent the device profile from opening, and the device will have to be deleted and re-created.
- Some devices receive a system-generated name. The system-generated name must be a valid filename and must adhere to syntax rules for identifiers.
