Edit the logic for an instance of an Add-On Instruction

Open the logic of an instance of an Add-On Instruction to:
  • View the instruction in context.
  • See the data values of the Add-On Instruction instance.
  • Identify instruction calls that have tags used for data.
Prerequisites
To edit the logic for an instance of an Add-On Instruction
  1. In the Explorer, select System icon
    System
    .
  2. In
    System
    , expand the
    FactoryTalk Smart Object
    and program and then double-click the routine.
  3. In the routine, right-click the title bar of the Add-On Instruction instance and select
    Open instruction logic
    . The read-only logic for the instance of the Add-On Instruction opens.
    TIP:
    • Open the logic for a different instance of the Add-On Instruction from the routine. In the upper-right corner of the tab for the routine, select the drop-down arrow and select the instance and path.
    • Open the logic for the definition of the Add-On Instruction from the routine. In the upper-right corner of the tab for the routine, select the arrow, and then from the list and select the Add-On Instruction at the top of the list. No path appears for the definition. You can edit the logic for the definition of the Add-On Instruction.
