Edit the definition of an Add-On Instruction

Edit the definition of an Add-On Instruction to change the name, description, vendor, version number or version notes for an Add-On Instruction or to add or delete a scan mode. Edit the Add-On Instruction definition from the Add-On Instruction or an instance of the Add-On Instruction. Changes made to the definition of an Add-On Instruction affect all instances of the Add-On Instruction in the project.
  1. On the explorer bar, select Library icon
    Library
    and then double-click the Add-On Instruction. The definition of the Add-On Instruction opens.
  2. Under
    General
    ,
    configure:
    • Date type size.
      The size of the date, in bytes, of the Add-On Instruction. Data type size is read-only.
    • Name.
      Type a new name for the Add-On Instruction.
    • Description
      . Type the description of the task that the Add-On Instruction performs.
    • Vendor
      . Type the owner of the Add-On Instruction.
    • Type
      . The Ladder Diagram type is read-only.
  3. Under
    Scan modes
    , add or delete a scan mode:
    • Prescan
      . Create a routine for the Add-On Instruction that executes before the first scan changes from Program mode to Run mode for the Add-On Instruction. Select
      Create prescan routine
      , enter an optional
      Description
      and then select
      OK
      .
      Prescan
      appears under the Add-On Instruction in the
      Library
      .
      TIP:
      • Select the prescan routine in
        Library
        to add logic to or edit logic in the routine.
      • If a prescan routine exists for the Add-On Instruction, select
        Delete prescan routine
        to delete the prescan routine before creating a routine.
    • EnableInFalse
      . Create a routine for the Add-On Instruction that executes when the EnableIn parameter is false. Select
      Create EnableInFalse routine
      , enter an optional
      Description
      and then select
      OK
      .

        to add logic to or edit logic in the routine.
      • If an

        routine exists for the Add-On Instruction, select

        to delete the EnableInFalse routine before creating a routine.
  4. Under
    Version
    , enter:
    • Version number
      . Enter the
      Major
      ,
      Minor
      , and
      Build
      versions for the Add-On Instruction. The maximum number for each version is 999.
    • Version note
      . Enter a description of the version.
