Set layout

By default in
FactoryTalk Design Studio
, certain panes appear pinned in certain locations:
  • Explorer
    is pinned in the left pane.
  • Toolbox
    and
    Properties
    appear pinned in the right pane.
  • Output
    appears pinned in the bottom pane.
Move other panes to these locations to customize the configuration of the user interface. View or move panes on the interface to save room, view only pertinent panes, and customize the interface.
FactoryTalk Design Studio
 retains the display and position of panes after you exit and restart
FactoryTalk Design Studio
.
To set layout
  1. Drag the title bar of a pane to move the pane to a different location on the interface. Panes drop into location on the left, right, and bottom of the user interface.
  2. Specify the visibility of an individual pane and the pane content. On the title bar of the pane, select FTDSTudioHamburgerMenuV1 to select:
    • Pin
      . Pin the pane to the current location. To unpin the pane instead, select
      Unpin
      .
    • Collapse
      . Hide the content of the pane. To display the content instead, select
      Expand
      .
    • Close
      . Close the pane.
      TIP: The view of unpinned panes does not toggle. Unpinned panes remain displayed on the user interface.
  3. To revert to the previous layout, Reset layout.
