Add a data logger
Configure a data logger to log variable values in a database.
- From the toolbar, selectOpen dashboard page
- In the central pane, selectConfigure a data logger.
- SelectNew data loggers.
- (optional) InName, enter the name for the data logger.
- InSampling mode, select either:
- None. Sample variables by invoking the Log method.
- Periodicto sample all monitored variables and inSampling period, set the interval in hours, with millisecond precision, between one sampling and the next.
- Change in valueto sample all monitored variables with values that changed from the previous sampling and inPolling time, set the interval in hours, with millisecond precision, between one sampling and the next.
- SelectNext.The messageThe Data loggerappears.namesuccessfully created
- SelectNext.
- If there is no database for the logger, create a database:TIP: You can also right-click an existing database and selectDuplicate. Duplicating a database is useful if you want to create a database based on an existing database.
- SelectNew databaseand complete:
- Name. A name for the database.
- Type. EitherEmbeddedorODBC connection.
- SelectNext.
- Set the database properties.
- SelectNext.
- Select the database to store the logger data and selectNext.
- Select the variables that you want to log and selectNext.TIP: You can find variables by using the search field.
- SelectExit.
- (optional) Set a deadband interval.
- (optional) Store read operation codes.
- (optional) Store variable reading date and time.
