Commit changes to a local repository
Save changes to a project to save changes on the local computer only. Saved changes are not backed up to a repository. Commit changes so that the changes are backed up to the local repository that is in the project folder on the local computer.
- Select.Save and Commit
- If version control is not configured and the message "You must configure a User Name and Email in FactoryTalk Studio Options before making a commit" appears:
- In the title bar ofFactoryTalk Optix Studio, select.FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options
- SelectVersion control.
- UnderVersion Control User Configuration, inUser Name, type your username.TIP:User Nameis the name that appears next to commits when you openView historyfor a project. View history identifies your commits with the first letter of your user name.
- InUser Email, type your email address.
- SelectSave.
- InSave and commit, inCommit message, type a description of the changes you are committing.
- SelectOK.
