Tracking Tab

Use this tab to enable and configure internal tracking, redundant tracking, and traverse rates.
Parameters
Internal Tracking
Enable Internal Tracking
Check this box to enable internal tracking.
Rate
This value changes the rate at which the internal tracking mode matches the non-active excitation control modes to the active excitation control mode. Valid values range from 1.0 to 80.0 Sec/FS; the default value is 5.0 Sec/FS.
Delay
This value changes the initial delay of the tracking function to prevent the tracking mode from adjusting the non-active modes into an undesirable condition.
For example, if while operating in AVR mode, the sensing VT fails to open, and the tracking mode were allowed to instantly track the full-on condition created by the loss of sensing, the transfer to manual mode would result in an undesirably high generator voltage, even when operating in the FCR mode. Adding a delay allows for the transfer to a different mode of operation without allowing the backup mode to follow into a potentially undesirable operating point.
Valid values range from 0.0 to 8.0 sec; the default value is 0.5 sec.
Redundant Tracking
Rate
This value changes the rate at which the tracking mode of the redundant CGCM matches the non-active excitation control modes to the active excitation control mode. Valid values range from 1.0 to 80.0 Sec/FS; the default value is 2.0 Sec/FS.
Delay
This value changes the initial delay of the tracking function of the redundant CGCM to prevent the tracking mode from adjusting the non-active modes into an undesirable condition.
For example, if while operating in AVR mode, the sensing VT fails to open, and the redundant CGCM tracking mode were allowed to instantly track the full-on condition created by the loss of sensing, the transfer to the redundant CGCM's manual mode would result in an undesirably high generator voltage, even when operating in the FCR mode. Adding a tracking delay allows for the transfer to a redundant CGCM without allowing the redundant CGCM to follow into a potentially undesirable operating point.
Valid values range from 0.0 to 8.0 sec; the default value is 0.5 sec.
Traverse Rates
AVR Control
This value changes the rate at which the AVR mode's regulation setpoint can be adjusted across the defined adjustment range for the AVR. Valid values range from 10.0 to 200.0 sec/Rated V; the default value is 20.0 sec/Rated V.
Power Factor
This value changes the rate at which the PF mode's regulation setpoint can be adjusted across the defined adjustment range for the PF. Valid values range from 10.0 to 200.0 sec/1.0 PF; the default value is 20.0 sec/1.0 PF.
VAR Control
This value changes the rate at which the VAR mode's regulation setpoint can be adjusted across the defined adjustment range for the VAR. Valid values range from 10.0 to 200.0 sec/Rated kVA; the default value is 20.0 sec/Rated kVA.
Manual Control (FCR)
This value changes the rate at which the FCR mode's regulation setpoint can be adjusted across the defined adjustment range for the FCR. Valid values range from 10.0 to 200.0 sec/Rated Field I; the default value is 20.0 sec/Rated Field I.
