Configure Alarms 1756-IT6I, -IT6I2, Floating Point Mode

To configure the alarms on the 1756-IT6I and 1756-IT6I2 modules in floating point mode:
  1. Select the channel button for the channel that you want to configure.
  2. Enter the desired process alarm values for:
    • High High
    • High
    • Low
    • Low Low
  3. Select the
    Unlatch All button
    if you want to unlatch
    all
    alarms for the channel.
  4. Select the
    Unlatch
    button if you want to unlatch the adjacent alarm condition.
  5. Use the slider bar to visualize where the process alarm trigger parts are set for your process.
  6. Select the
    Disable All Alarms
    box if you want to disable alarms for the channel.
  7. Select the
    Latch Process Alarms
    box if you want to maintain an alarm-triggered condition for any of the process alarms after the condition ceases.
  8. Select the
    Latch Rate Alarm
    box to maintain the alarm after the condition ceases.
  9. Enter a value for which the alarm will not disable, if the input value remains within the range of the alarm trigger point, in the
    Deadband
    box.
  10. Enter a value (in Engineering Units per second), for the alarm to trigger when the rate of change between the input samples exceeds the setpoint, in the
    Rate Alarm
    box.
  11. Select:
    • OK to accept your edits and close the dialog.
    • Cancel to delete your edits and close the dialog.
    • Apply to make your edits effective and continue editing.
