Configure the 1756-IT6I and -IT6I2 in Floating Point Mode

Use this procedure to configure the 1756-IT6I and -IT6I2 modules in floating point mode.
  1. Select the channel button for the desired channel to configure.
  2. Enter the appropriate scaling values for:
    • Low Signal
    • Low Engineering
    • High Signal
    • High Engineering
  3. Select the up/down arrow in the
    RTS
    box to enter the
    Real Time Sample
    period in milliseconds.
  4. Select the desired temperature scale button.
  5. Select the down arrow to select the desired input operating range
  6. Select the down arrow in the
    Sensor Type
    box to select a thermocouple-type to linearize the analog signal into a temperature value.
  7. Enter the appropriate offset value for the calibration bias.
  8. Select the down arrow in the
    Notch Filter
    box to select the desired filter frequency
  9. Select the up and down arrows in the
    Digital Filter
    box to select the desired filter time constant in milliseconds.
  10. If not using a cold junction sensor, select the
    Cold Junction Disable
    box.
  11. If not using a RTB to connect wiring to a module, select the
    Remote CJ Compensation
    box
  12. In the
    Cold Junction Offset
    box, enter a value to add to the cold junction input during the temperature calculation to compensate for inaccuracies of the cold junction sensor.
  13. Select
    OK
    to save the changes and close the dialog.
