Output State tab 1756-OF4, -OF8, OF6CI, -OF6VI

Use the
Output State
tab on the
Module Properties
tab to configure output limits on these modules:
  • 1756-OF4
  • 1756-OF8
  • 1756-OF6CI
  • 1756-OF6VI
The configuration information for the module is stored in the controller. The controller configures the module.
Use the
Output State
tab to:
  • Select the channel to configure.
  • Select the output state in program mode.
  • Select to ramp to a user-defined value.
  • View the ramp rate.
  • Select the output state in fault mode.
  • Select how outputs react to a communications failure in Program mode.
Parameters
Channel
Select one of the channel buttons to display its information on this tab.
Output State in Program Mode
Specifies the output state when in Program mode.
  • Hold Last State
    - Holds the current output at its last value.
  • User Defined Value
    - Transitions to the user-specified value when the owner controller is switched into Program mode. Enter the value in the box.
Ramp to User Defined Value
Select to ramp the output to the user-defined value at the
Ramp Rate
specified on the
Limits
tab.
Ramp Rate
Displays the ramping rate. The output ramping limits the speed at which an analog output signal can change. Ramping prevents fast transitions in output from damaging external modules that the output controls. Set
Ramp Rate
on the
Limits
tab.
Output State in Fault Mode
Specifies the output state when in fault mode.
  • Hold Last State
    - Holds the current output at its last value.
  • User Defined Value
    - Transitions to the user-specified value if a fault occurs. Enter the value in the box.
Communication between an output module and its controller is lost if a fault occurs.
Communication Failure
Specifies how the outputs react to communications failure in Program mode.
  • Leave outputs in Program Mode state
  • Change outputs in Fault Mode state

If:
  • You are online in Program, Remote Program or Remote Run mode and,
  • This controller is the owner controller and,
  • You have changed the module’s configuration in the software,
when you select the Apply or the OK button, the information is automatically sent to the controller. The controller tries to send the information to the module (if the module’s connection is not inhibited). If you don’t select Apply, your changes are not sent to the controller.
