Pulse Test Tab 1756-OA8D, -OB16D

Use this tab to run a pulse test on the 1756-OA8D and 1756-OB16D modules.
The pulse test verifies output circuit functionality without changing the state of the output load device. To do this, the pulse test turns on the output and ensures that it comes on when the command is issued.
This feature is designed for loads that hold one position for long periods of time. The pulse test allows the module to quickly change the output from its current state to the opposite state and back to the original state; for example, from ON to OFF and back to ON again. The module can detect the change in the output before the output load device has enough time to change its state.
On this tab, you can:
  • Run a pulse test on each output point
  • View the results of a pulse test
Parameters
Pulse
Select a test button to perform a pulse test on an output point.
Once the output diagnostic module detects the circuit responding to the pulse test, a Passed status is displayed which verifies the load is properly connected and a short or overload does not exist.
Results
Displays the results of the pulse test:
  • Passed
  • Failed
