Configuration Tab 1794-IR8, -IT8

Use this tab to configure each input channel of your 1794-IR8 or -IT8 modules.
Parameters
Sensor Type
Choose the type of sensor for channels 0 through 7. These sensors allow individual channel range selections for different scaled values.
TIP:
The 1794-IT8 module can measure the cold junction temperature for channels 0-3 and 4-7.
Choose from:

No sensor (do not scan)
Data Format
Choose the module's reported data format in actual engineering units for all channels. The scaled values are in integer format. Choose from:
  • Degrees C (default)
  • Degrees F
  • -32767 to 32767
  • 0 to 65535
Notch Filter
Choose the frequency for the first notch filter. The filter changes the module's A/D output data rate. Choose from:
  • Hardware Filter Only (default=0)
  • 40 Hz
  • 10 Hz
  • 4 Hz
  • 2 Hz
  • 1 Hz
  • 0.5 Hz
  • 0.2 Hz
Enhanced Mode (1794-IR8)
Check this box to improve module accuracy and reduce errors caused by temperature drift.
Note that while module accuracy is improved in this mode, you may notice a decrease in module output.
Fixed Filter Enable (1794-IT8)
Check this box to enable the digital software filter.
The filter reaches 100 percent of a full scale step input in 60 times the selected notch filter.
This box is unchecked (that is, the filter is disabled), by default.
Out of Range LED Enable
Check this box to enable the channel LED, which will turn on in under or over range conditions.

If:
  • you are online in Program, Remote Program or Remote Run mode and,
  • this controller is the owner controller and,
    controller
A device that controls machines or processes elements (for example, a programmable controller or relay panel).
  • you have changed the module’s configuration in the software,
when you click the Apply or the OK button, the information is automatically sent to the controller. The controller tries to send the information to the module (if the connection to the module is not inhibited). If you don’t click the Apply or OK button, your changes are not sent to the controller.
TIP:
The connection to a FLEX I/O module using Rack communication cannot be inhibited. The Inhibit check box on the Connection tab is disabled in this case.
