Configure the 1794-IJ2, 1792-IJ2I, or the 1797-IJ2 Frequency Input Module

You can use the default configuration supplied with your FLEX Specialty I/O or FLEX Specialty Ex I/O modules, or you can use the
Logix Designer
software features to configure a module specific to your application. You can:
I/O (input/output)
Devices that provide and/or receive data from the controller.
  • accept default configuration for your module or
  • write a configuration specific to your application.
To configure a FLEX Specialty module:
  1. Under the I/O Configuration folder in the controller organizer, right-click the on the 1794-IJ2, 1794-IJ2I, or the 1797-IJ2 module and click Properties.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. Click the desired channel to configure.
  4. Click Frequency or Acceleration.
  5. Enter the Maximum Frequency within the Frequency Range you chose.
  6. Click the Frequency Range listbox and choose a Frequency Range.
  7. Click the Minimum Frequency or Acceleration/Deceleration Sample Time listbox and choose a Sample Time.
  8. If you are using Acceleration, choose the desired Acceleration Calculation Time.
  9. Choose to invert the frequency and/or gate input signal.
  10. Choose a multiplier and/or a divisor value to scale the incoming frequency value.
  11. Click:
    • OK to accept your edits and close the dialog.
    • Cancel to delete your edits and close the dialog.
    • Apply to make your edits effective and continue editing.
