Configure Safe State Value

To configure the safe state value for a FLEX I/O digital output or Combo module:
safe state
The condition that an output module maintains in the event of a network communication error, or when the controller enters the program mode. When either of these situations occur, the outputs automatically switch to the configured state (for digitals) or to the value (for analogs).
  1. From the Communications Fault Behavior pull-down menu, choose the desired behavior of the adapter when a communication fault occurs for this module.
  2. From the Program Mode behavior pull-down menu, choose the desired behavior of the adapter when it detects that the controller (or scanner) is in program mode.
  3. Select a Safe State Value of On or Off, for each point, by clicking on the down arrow in the box.
    Tip:
To use this feature, you must first select "Apply Safe State to Outputs" in the Communications Fault Behavior or Program Mode Behavior boxes.
