Input Configuration Tab - 1794-IF2XOF2I

Use this tab to configure each input channel of your Combo module.
Parameters
Voltage/Current Range
Select the voltage/current range and data format for each channel. This feature allows you to configure individual input channels to operate with a specific voltage or current range. There are four formats in which data is exchanged between the module and the adapter. The formats correspond to specific voltage/current ranges. The default value is 4 to 20mA-Signed Two’s Complement.
Conversion Rate
Select a rate at which to convert data from analog to digital (A/D) for each channel. The valid rates are: 150 Hz, 300 Hz, 600 Hz, or 1200 Hz. The default value is 1200 Hz.
Low Pass Time Constant
Select a low pass filter option for each input channel. You have the capability to specify a frequency to use for input signal noise rejection using the Low Pass Time Constant listbox. The valid options are: None, 100ms, 500ms or 1000ms. The default is None.
low pass filter
A digital device that provides noise rejection for input signals. This device is programmable and has eight filter frequency options for each channel. A low frequency provides the most noise rejection. A high frequency provides the least noise rejection and a faster step response time.
Real Time Sample
The rate at which the module collects the most recent output of the converter that is later sent off to the adapter. Select a value in milliseconds. The valid range is 0-30000 in 5ms intervals. The default value is 0ms.
Interleave Module Interrupts
Do not check the Interleave Module Interrupts checkbox unless you know you have a specific use for this option. The Interleave Module Interrupts feature is useful only in limited circumstances and can only be enabled when you configured a module’s Conversion Rate to 1200 Hz, Low Pass Time Constant to None, and Real Time Sampling period to 0 for ALL channels on the module. Unchecked checkbox is the default value.

If:
  • you are online in Program, Remote Program or Remote Run mode and,
    • this controller is the owner controller and,
      controller
A device that controls machines or processes elements (for example, a programmable controller or relay panel).
when you click the Apply or the OK button, the information is automatically sent to the controller. The controller tries to send the information to the module (if the connection to the module is not inhibited). If you don’t click the Apply or OK button, your changes are not sent to the controller.
TIP:
The connection to a FLEX I/O module using Rack communication cannot be inhibited. The
Inhibit
check box on the Connection tab is disabled in this case.
