Module Info Tab - FLEX I/O

This FLEX I/O Module Info tab displays module identification and status information about a FLEX I/O module. The information on this tab is not displayed if you are:
module
A device, typically an I/O device, that communicates with the controller. The controller, a particular 1756-IB16I or a PanelView are all considered modules.
  • offline
  • currently creating a module
Use this tab to determine the identity and status of the module.
TIP:
The data on this tab comes directly from the module.
Parameters
Identification
Displays the module’s:
  • Vendor
  • Product Type
  • Product Code
  • Revision
Status
This field displays the module’s current operational state and is separated into a Fault section and a Module Identity section. These sections are discussed below.
Fault
This field displays fault information about the module.
If this type of fault occurs:
It means:
And you should:
None
Normal operating mode. The module has no faults.
Do nothing (i.e., no action should be taken).
Empty Slot
The slot/location is physically empty.
Insert a module into the slot/location, or correct the slot number in the
Logix Designer
 application.
Backplane Transmission Error
There is difficulty in communicating across the backplane.
Ensure that the modules and bases are properly installed and connected.
Unexpected Module
The physical hardware does not match the module configured in the software.
Ensure that the physical module is the same module type as created in the software.
Module Identity
This field displays these values.
If the physical module:
This is displayed:
agrees with what was specified when the module was created
Match
disagrees with what was specified when the module was created
Mismatch
Refresh
Select to refresh the tab with new data from the module.
OK
Select to accept/apply your edits on any tab and close the dialog.
Cancel
Select to cancel your edits on any tab and close the dialog.
Apply
Select to accept/apply your edits on any tab and continue editing.
If:
  • you are online in Program, Remote Program or Remote Run mode, and
  • this controller is the
    controller
    A device that controls machines or processes elements (for example, a programmable controller or relay panel).
    owner controller, and
  • you have changed the module’s configuration in the software
then when you select Apply or OK, the information is automatically sent to the controller. The controller tries to send the information to the module (if the module’s connection is not inhibited). If you don’t select Apply, your changes are not sent to the controller.
