Failed to modify the controller properties
There was a problem applying your changes on the
Controller Properties
dialog box. The error message indicates one of the following conditions:Access denied
Check with your Security Administrator to be sure you have sufficient access to modify controller properties.
The controller name is invalid
You either did not enter a name for the controller, or the name you entered does not follow the IEC1131 naming standard.
Reenter the name using the format defined by the standard.
The slot number exceeds the chassis size
The slot number specified is greater than the size of the chassis.
You must increase the chassis size or enter a slot number less than the chassis size.
Slot out of range for current chassis size
You have entered a slot location that is not valid for the current chassis.
Enter a value that is valid for the particular chassis you are using.
The slot number is in use by another module
You entered a slot number that is in use by another module in the local chassis. You can see what slot numbers are in use by looking at the local chassis in the Controller Organizer’s module tree.
Choose a slot number that is not being used. If you want to use a slot number that is already assigned to a module, go to the
Module Properties
dialog box and assign the module to a different slot.The module requires multiple adjacent addresses and cannot be located here
The Safety controller and Safety Partner require 2 consecutive (adjacent) slots, with the Safety Partner located to the right of the primary controller. This message appears when the second slot is not available. This may happen when selecting the corresponding slot number or when attempting to change the
Safety Level
from SIL2/PLd to SIL3/PLe. Changing the Safety Level from SIL2/PLd to SIL3/PLe creates a safety partner in the I/O Configuration tree. The module spans multiple slots and conflicts with a chassis support panel
This message appears when attempting to configure the controller in a slot pair that is separated by a physical chassis support panel.
Specify at least one slot when restricting communication paths
Select one or more slots to use when communicating with the controller. If a device is connected to a slot that is not selected, the communications between the device and the controller are restricted.
If you do not want to restrict communication paths for this controller, clear the
Restrict Communication Except Through Trusted Paths
check box.Controller Fault Handler and Power-Up Handler programs cannot be the same
You selected the same program to be the Controller Fault Handler program and the Power-Up Handler program.
Select a different program for one or the other, or select
None
to remove the selection.System overhead time slice out of range
You entered a value outside of the valid range, which is between 10% and 90%, inclusive.
Select a value inside of this range.
Controller locked by another user
Another user has locked the controller, preventing other workstations from making edits. Wait until the controller is unlocked and try again.
Controller web pages feature cannot be enabled due to redundancy being enabled
The
Enable Controller Embedded Web Page
option is not supported when Redundancy is enabled. To enable the Controller Embedded Web Page option, disable Redundancy. Provide Feedback
