Copy a PDF graphic element or PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic

Copy a single or multiple PDF graphic elements or PDF Viewer Add-On Graphics to reuse the PDF on screens and popups within a project or across
View Designer
projects. Copying a PDF graphic element or PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic copies all of the property values of the graphic element or Add-On Graphic.
Prerequisites
  • Open the source
    View Designer
    project containing the content to copy.
  • If pasting content into another project, start another instance of
    View Designer
    to open the target project. Open no more than three instances of
    View Designer
    at one time.
To copy a PDF graphic element or PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic
  1. In the
    Graphic Explorer
    , right-click the PDF graphic element or a PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic and then select
    Copy
    .
    TIP:
    To select multiple PDF graphic elements or Add-On Graphics, hold
    Ctrl
    and select multiple items.
  2. On the target screen, right-click the location to paste and select
    Paste
    .
    TIP:
    Tips:
    • If the target screen contains a PDF graphic element or PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic with the same name, the name of the new graphic element or Add-On Graphic appears with an increment number.
    • Copying a PDF graphic element or PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic copies the referenced PDF document. When a PDF document with the same name already exists in the target project, replace the PDF document or cancel copying the PDF document.
    • To cut a PDF graphic element or a PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic, right-click the graphic element and select
      Cut
      .
    • Copying a PDF graphic element or a PDF Viewer Add-On Graphic copies the property values of the graphic element or Add-On Graphic, including the name of the PDF document.
