Add an event command to import a certificate

Import a certificate to allow encrypted communication between the web browser on the HMI device and a remote server.
TIP:
When creating a self-signed certificate, verify that the
Subject Alternative Name
property of the certificate contains the IP address of the device or server that you are connecting to.
Prerequisites
  • Create an event to trigger the command:
    • Touch press.
      Occurs when touching the item on the screen that is configured with the event.
    • Touch release.
      Occurs when releasing the item on the screen that is configured with the event.
    • Key press.
      Occurs when
      pressing the specified key.
    • Key release.
      Occurs when releasing the specified key.
To add an event command to import a certificate
    1. Select the graphic element configured with the touch or key event.
    2. In the
      Properties
      pane on the
      Events
      tab, select
      Add Command
      .
    Expand the
    Certificate
    command category and select
    Import Certificate
    .
  1. Under
    Import Certificate
    on the command card, in the
    Source
    box, select
    USB
    or
    SD Card
    .
  2. In the
    FileName
    box, type the file name of the certificate or or create a binding to a string which contains the file name of the certificate.
