Emulate a project

Emulate a project to depict the project as it is to appear on the HMI device. The project screens and the HMI device that displays the downloaded project appear in the
View 5000 Emulator
 window.
Use the Emulator to:
  • Verify project content, behavior, and navigation as it is to appear on the physical HMI device.
  • Verify a project when there is no physical HMI device.
  • Test a project before impacting the physical system.
Only one instance of the Emulator can be running on a computer at a time.
Emulate the project after setting the
Emulator to Controller path
 for each referenced controller in the project properties.
Setting the Emulator to Controller path to the same path for multiple controller references displays duplicate alarms in the Alarm Summary and the Alarm Manager. Each alarm in the controller displays for each controller reference that has the same Emulator to Controller path.
The Emulator depicts
PanelView
 5000 HMI devices. Changes made to the project after starting the Emulator do not emulate. The Emulator runs for two hours before closing automatically. Manually close the Emulator at any time.
