Measures to support accessibility
Rockwell Automation takes the following measures toward accessibility of Rockwell Automation products and services:
- Appoint an accessibility officer and/or ombudsperson.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define a framework for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Rockwell Automation is working towards WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA conformance levels in all of our products and digital content.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
Rockwell Automation’s products and services are designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Google Chrome, Firefox, MS Edge
- Windows OS
Mobile operating systems are not compatible with Rockwell Automation software products that cannot be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple Application stores.
Technical specifications
Accessibility of Rockwell Automation products rely on the following technologies to work with the combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- Windows OS
- Accessibility overlays
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Rockwell Automation products, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, for which we are working toward solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below. Known limitations for Rockwell Automation:
- Many of our products were originally created before any web content accessibility guidelines were created or were universally deemed a standard to follow. Because of this, many of our Desktop software products have accessibility and assistive technology limitations.

Assessment approach
Rockwell Automation assessed the accessibility of Rockwell Automation by the following approaches:
- Product evaluations in the form of Accessibility Compliance Reports (ACRs) and Voluntary Products Accessibility Templates (VPATS).
- Reports will be certified by a Trusted Tester or other accessibility professional, internally or externally with the support of our product experts.
